PLASTICS GROUP LIMITED/MENARDS INC. ENTER INTO SUPPLY AGREEMENT
FOR PLASTIC DECKING SYSTEM DEAL
MISSISSAUGA,
ONTARIO - CPI Plastics
Group Limited (“CPI”) today announced that it has entered into
an agreement with Menards Inc. of Eau Claire, Wisconsin to supply
ExtrudawoodÔ – The Complete Decking System.
The Extrudawood outdoor decking system, manufactured of
virgin plastic by CPI, exhibits all the natural warmth and beauty
of wood without any of wood’s disadvantages – it lasts longer
and is completely maintenance free, saving consumers untold hours
and dollars required to maintain and refurbish conventional wooden
decks. The system was successfully test marketed in 1999 in the
U.S. Pacific Northwest and Southwest with excellent sell through
rates at retail. This high level of consumer demand and acceptance
has resulted in the rollout of the system across North America
in 2000 and beyond.
The Extrudawood system competes in the premium end of the
multi billion dollar North American outdoor decking market. Plastic
and composite decking materials account for only 5% of this market,
but the segment’s triple digit growth rate will garner a rapid
increase in market share over the coming years.
Menards is the number one chain of home improvement centres in
the U.S. Midwest and is ranked number three nationally. With over
145 stores and 2 distribution centres, Menards is the leading
outlet for decking materials in its market area.
CPI Plastics Group Limited, headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario,
is an international leader in designing, engineering and manufacturing
